Caminata de Concientización sobre el Suicidio en Honor a los Veteranos Únete a una caminata significativa en Guadalupe County State Natural Area para honrar a quienes perdieron la vida por suicidio y para apoyar a los veteranos y militares en servicio que siguen enfrentando dificultades después de su servicio. Los participantes pueden elegir entre tres senderos sugeridos y completar tantas vueltas como deseen, caminando con peso (rucking) o sin peso. ✨ Apoyo Comunitario y Sanación en la Naturaleza Este evento inclusivo recibe a personas de todas las edades (los menores deben ir acompañados por un padre, madre o tutor) e invita a los participantes a llevar banderas o vestir recuerdos militares si así lo desean. El rucking es opcional; quienes decidan hacer rucking con alimentos no perecederos podrán donarlos al final del evento a Good Samaritan Ministries Brownwood para ayudar a personas sin hogar de la comunidad. En 2024, casi 33,000 veteranos se encontraban sin vivienda en todo el país. Voluntarios de organizaciones de salud mental atenderán estaciones de agua e información a lo largo de los senderos. La caminata ofrece una valiosa oportunidad de reunirnos en la naturaleza para recordar, crear conciencia y mantener la esperanza. ️ Detalles del Evento y Entrada Lugar de Reunión: Group Dining Hall Rutas Sugeridas: • Possum Loop de 0.75 millas (más accesible, pendientes suaves) • Texas Oak Trail de 0.96 millas (difícil, rocoso con tramos empinados) • Nopales Ridge Trail de 2.87 millas (la opción más larga, con cambios de elevación y terreno rocoso) Qué Llevar: Zapatos cómodos para caminar, protector solar, repelente de insectos, gorra, al menos 2 litros de agua por persona y un refrigerio si lo desea. Trae tu propia mochila con peso si vas a hacer rucking. Costo: Gratis – no se cobra la entrada para este evento Se recomienda a los veteranos y al personal militar en servicio activo obtener con anticipación un Parklands Passport para entrar gratis a todos los Texas State Parks (disponible en el Visitor Center o en cualquier Texas State Park). Participants can borrow fishing poles and tackle from the park, making this program perfect for beginners, no prior experience or equipment is necessary. This program is free with park entrance . The program is weather dependent.

🔭 Stargazing Night at Lake Brownwood State Park Experience the wonder of the night sky during a special evening of stargazing at Lake Brownwood State Park. Guests will have the opportunity to view celestial objects through telescopes while learning about stars, constellations, and other fascinating sights overhead from knowledgeable volunteers. Whether attending for the first time or returning as a seasoned skywatcher, this program offers an unforgettable look at the universe above. ✨ Starry Skies & Shared Discovery The program takes place in the park’s Day Use Area, where visitors are encouraged to bring a folding chair or blanket to relax under the stars. To help preserve everyone’s night vision, guests should bring a red light instead of a white flashlight and be mindful of vehicle headlights when arriving and departing. Astronomy enthusiasts are also welcome to bring their own telescopes and share their passion for the night sky with fellow participants. 🌌 Admission & Information This program is included with park admission and is weather dependent. Guests who would like to volunteer as astronomy educators can contact the park staff for more information. Visitors are encouraged to call the park during operating hours before attending to check the status of the program if weather conditions are uncertain.
